Much Ado About Stalking, Dick In A Box, Hannibal, Don Draper vs Peggy, new MySpace, summer movies, and TV both underrated & cancelled.
Before we get all NSFW, how about Nancy B’s Science Club? For the smart young ladies in your life. MySpace is new (yet) again!
San Diego Comic Con has a toy map for you. See ya there?
We figured out where Joss Whedon lives, based on the awesome Much Ado About Nothing filmed at his home (and with a little help from Google). Yes, we’re stalkers. Don’t let that scare you away from this gorgeous interpretation. Viva Joss! Chronicle is an entertaining movie.
You can watch Hannibal in a million places for free: Hulu, Amazon, NBC, etc. Best new series in a while. Do it. The Killing, too…you will need to hit Netflix.
We’re addicted. Comic Con, movies, Olympics…and pharma. And bugs. But you’ll have to listen.
Dilaudid. Our new drug of choice.
We missed Comic Con aka SDCC. We have the feels about it, but thinking a smaller Con is in our future.
Neil Gaiman’s commencement address. (Not Neil Diamond.)
Kevin Smith loves Ritzy more than he loves TI. 😉
We love the Olympics. USA! USA! And: SI MEXICO!
Super special guest, author Chris Farnsworth, joins us to talk about his newest President’s Vampire tale, “Red, White & Blood”…plus lots of other writerly, pop culture-y, and monstery stuff. Plus we bend it like Fassbender, drink the Ice T, and get It on. Big ups to our home town, Whale’s Vagina.
GAME OF MFIN THRONES! We bid you adieu. Plus Mad Men, Kevin Smith, other podcasts we love, an aborted trip to the MTV Movie Awards, a LOT of people-whose-names-we-can’t-remember, and reading (it’s FUNdamental)!
Art Hustle cards announced. There will be – drum roll, please – a Ritzy Periwinkle card!
Have we mentioned lately that you should check out Hollywood Babble On, our favoritest podcast?
T.I. attended the True Blood premiere. Here’s a gallery of the pretty people in attendance.
Ritzy attended the Nerdist “live” podcast. We love Nerdist…episode 200, with Kevin Smith, was pretty awesome. Lots of talk about podcasting if you’re a fellow or aspiring ‘caster!
Lisa’s fave online message boards for TV: TV Without Pity!
The Nerd Out Summer Reading List: The Walking Dead Compendium 1. Good read, highly recommended. REAMDE Ready Player One Storm Front – Dresden Files Book 1
What up, nerds? We watched The Oscars – and a show with no “Drive” is a show we just cannot get behind – plus bring you up to date on all our TV faves (who’s on the bubble? who’s getting cancelled? what’s renewed?)…a service for which we anticipate you’ll be eternally grateful.
Also, hey, did you know we’re on Facebook and Twitter? Indeed! Hit us up, we’d love to hear from you.
OK, we’ll admit it: we’re obsessed with the Zombie Apocalypse aka THE ZAPOCALYPSE. We started planning this zombie-only episode – the first in a series – from The Nerd Out’s genesis, and are super excited to bring interviews with two amazing experts: Matt Mogk of The Zombie Research Society, who answers some burning questions (zombie biology! how the virus might spread! why Los Angeles is screwed!) and and The Zombie Response Team, Zapocalypse survivalists and cool folks with a plan.

Matt’s books on Amazon Prion diseases are brain diseases that can make the jump from animals to humans (see: Mad Cow Disease).
The Zombie Response Team! (We interview them with many ankle-biters in the background…enjoy the melodious sounds of screaming children.)
